my dream office

Discover my dream office : a modernist masterpiece designed by Constantin Brodzki, revisited for Fosbury & Sons by Going East.

I would easily see myself coming every morning at Boitsfort co-working space, after my daily workout, a coffee in one hand and a pain au chocolat in the other. Specially to one of these desks, to enjoy warm light. I’m in love with the neutral tones and the materials : concrete, leather, wood. The soft curves of the windows encompasses us, creating like a cocoon… the perfect design cocoon.

The legendary establishment CBR unveils since the seventies its remarkable modern architecture and its oval tinted windows. This building was designed by Constantin Brodzki in 1970 for the cement firm CBR in Brussels. To showcase the materials quality, its facade is made of 756 prefabricated oval concrete modules. Renovated by Going East for Fosbury & Sons, it now offers 7000 square metres of infinite possibility, a truly unique office experience.

As it has been classified by the Brussels Region, the new owners Fosbury & Sons and the design agency Going East had to respect the already existing structures and identity of the building. The windows, the walls and even the furniture have kept a very seventies touch.

For the architects who worked on the project, respecting the work of the architect Brodzki was a big challenge. They used the same original materials but gave them a different, more modern touch. For example, the interior facade is made of raw concrete, and all worktops in the kitchen or bar are made of smooth concrete.

The character of the building, its history, its exceptional architecture, the spirit of the age in which it was built, it just fitted.

says Stijn Geeraets, who founded Fosbury & Sons with Maarten Van Gool. The building has this James Bond-slash-Mad Men vibe which makes working days much more interesting, for sure.
